JubileeTV needs to be on the same network for IP Control and the Smart Plug to work properly. IP Control is preferred for devices like the Roku where JubileeTV directly opens apps like Netflix or Hulu.
IP Controls
For JubileeTV to control devices via IP Control, the device needs to be on the same network. If it is not on the same network, JubileeTV may be unable to control your device via IP Control and may have to use a different control type.
Smart Plug Fallback Mode
JubileeTV and the Smart Plug must be on the same network. If not, the Smart Plug will be unable to enter Fallback Mode if it is unable to reach the JubileeTV servers.
Note: While your device might be on the same network, if you are on a guest network or a managed network your devices may be on different subnets leading to IP Control and Fallback Mode not working.
