No. JubileeTV can only control devices connected to the JubileeTV Console with HDMI. Because of this, JubileeTV does not work with tuners built into your TV. You will need to use an external tuning device that allows for HDMI output.
The external tuning device will work similarly to a traditional cable box. You hook up your coax connection to the external tuning device and it gives you an HDMI connection that you can connect to the JubileeTV Console. This will allow you to use the JubileeTV App to change channels and see what’s playing on the TV.
If you currently watch live TV from a cable provider with a coax connection going straight into your TV, adding a tuner is very easy. You will need to purchase a digital tuning adapter, many can be found on Amazon. While we do not officially have a device we recommend, we do have several customers who are successfully using the Homeworx Mediasonic. JubileeTV can control this device and would allow you to use our app-based TV control feature to change the channels remotely.
